My birthday was yesterday October 20th, I’m 22 now. I had a great time with my girlfriend the whole day, and we went to Atrox Factory with Kayla Rose! It was my second time going here, but it’s always fun to go every year and get scared.
But… on the way to Atrox I got a speeding ticket! Yes… a speeding ticket on my birthday. So wonderful isn’t it? Other than the ticket I had a great time and really enjoyed myself. Samantha really made the day special for me and just spending time with her would have been enough.
I’ve just been taken it easy lately with day to day things. Maybe it’s just the laid back feeling of Fall that makes me so nonchalant. You can never really be for sure on these type of things…
Christmas will be here sooner than you know it. Hopefully I’ll be in a better mood soon!
Free E-book Downloads

I’ve added a new page to the site for free downloads. As I continue the site I will be writing more and more e-books full of knowledge, ideas, and money saving tips for you. There’s currently one free e-book available named “23 Ways to Save Money”. I try and keep everything friendly and simple. You can download “23 Ways to Save Money” to your computer when clicking the link on the “free downloads” page. Share it with friends, or just keep it and begin using each tip one by one. It’s up to you!
I don’t know what the next one will be about, but I’m thinking of creating an e-book full of homemade recipes for products that you usually purchase at the store. This will provide many more ways to save money!
“Dave himself referred to it as that “mystical place.”
He had built his business up in the 1980s to the point that if he wanted something, he bought it. No thought required. Dinner at a restaurant tonight? Sounds good. A new suit or a new toy? Sure, and even more sure. Being in that kind of financial shape might be a nice place to be, but it isn’t a safe one.
We know that we get a kick out of seeing something, getting that buyer’s rush, and making the purchase right then and there. That kick is the reason why this behavior has been the financial downfall of many people.
Once you get home and a couple of days pass (and the juices have stopped flowing), then you’ll find that the buying fever is gone—along with the money. Eventually you get tired of the item. Then one day you’ll be out and about, see something else, and get the fever all over again. When the cycle repeats like that, you’ll be nickel-and-dimed to death, one purchase at a time.
If you see something that you want and you feel the wave of impulse buying coming on (especially with big-ticket items), there’s a calculated way to handle it. Here’s the order:
- • Sleep on it. Go home and let the fever die down. Once your juices are back to normal, you have better perspective and can take a more rational look at the purchase. If you end up not buying it, then you saved money that you would have spent in the moment.
- • Check your budget. The reason this is listed second is because it’s more important to settle down first and then look at your money. If you have the fever and know you can’t afford it, you may buy it anyway. With cash you pay, or stay away.
- • If it’s a pricey item (usually more than $300), negotiate. Don’t fork over $350 if you can get it for $325.
By the way, it’s a given that you should be out of debt with a full emergency fund before spending like this.
If you keep a cool head when the fever of impulse buying hits, you won’t wake up the next morning and wonder what you were thinking. You’ll have peace with your money and your perspective on life.
Sounds like a mystical place.”

Yep… the title really explains it all. Most teens now a days don’t seem to realize their not limited to working only fast food or only working part time. There are so many ways to start your own business as a teen, and be the richest kid in school!
Take some time to read this article I’ve written on this topic. Even if your not a teenager there are still good ideas in the article you can take advantage of. I’m thinking about writing an E-Book with small business ideas and making it available for download right here on this site. If your a teen and would like some more information or have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment on the article “Starting a Business for Teens“. I will be more then happy to assist anyone anyway that I can.
You can find the article here – Small Business Ideas for Teens or from one of the other links in this post.
A little sacrifice now is better then a lot later
I was on Dave Ramsey’s website and read an article I would like to share with everyone.
“Yeah, we know … we’re not even past Halloween, and we’re running a story about budgeting for Christmas?
We are indeed, for a good reason. There are 75 days to go until December 25 (from the date of this story). If you figure out how much you’re going to spend and can break it down to weekly or even daily savings, you can do some debt-free Christmas shopping because you started stocking money away early. Happy holidays indeed.
Here’s the formula: (Amount you want to save / days left until Christmas).
If you fall behind in your savings, you can just plug in your current total and time to learn how much you need to save from here on out. Keep an envelope in your house and every time you save or earn some money, put it in there. Watch it grow!
If you can financially swing it (and starting this early, you can) you might even do all your saving over the next 60 days to leave yourself some shopping time. It’s much more fun to smile and shake your head at last-minute Christmas shoppers than to be one of them.
Here are some suggestions for putting money away, or not spending it at all:
- • Look at your budget and figure out what you could do without for two months. Maybe a premium cable package or a daily trip to a coffee shop. You can cancel those things for that amount of time, and you may even feel like staying away from them once the holidays are over since you’ll be used to life without them.
- • If you need to pick up part-time work to hit your budget goal, do it now. It’s a lot easier to save money over two months than two weeks, and not being under the gun to sell something for holiday money will take a lot of stress from your life.
- • The best presents come from the heart. Gift giving reaches a whole new level when you put thought into it rather than just pulling something off the shelf. Find out what someone likes and make a present for them, like a favorite dessert or babysitting their kids for a night.
It starts now. Will you do the same?”

Well, I was called for work 10/08/11 and it was for a train that wasn’t on my work board. This means it’s added on top of our guarantee for that pay half. Very good news when your trying to build wealth!
I took a train from Birmingham to Nashville which pays me around $250 for the one way trip. Then after sleeping in the hotel
we get a call on 10/09 to grab a train 30 miles from Nashville and take it the rest of the way to Nashville terminal. Another $250. At this point I’m already so excited, and then we get another call on the same day 10/09 to get another train like our last one. This train was about 45 miles out and another $250!!
After we get this one back it’s time for us to take a dead head home from Nashville to Birmingham… another $250! All of this combined with the deadheads we took from the terminal to pick up these two trains. I earned about $1,150 on top of the $2,000 a half guarantee. Such a great work period!

I wanted to take a moment to clarify everything I’m talking about in this blog. I’m not trying to brag, I’m not trying to down talk anyone, or anything negative of the like. I hope nothing comes across as such. If anything comes across as me being full of myself I apologize.
I believe in building wealth to help others. You can’t help others if you yourself are not established.
Also I hope some of you get moved by this blog and start taking control over your own money and building wealth with me!

Sorry for being gone for a while, but I am now back. To update my previous post “Trouble in Love City”, my girlfriend ended up selling her truck! Woot! She indeed still needed a car so we purchased a used Mitsubishi Eclipse 1998.
As far as works been going I have completed my training with CSX and I’m now a “marked up” conductor. I’m still on probation for another month although. Since I’ve been gone my Stats have been updated, so you’ll be able to check that out. I’m currently saving around $1,000 a month, if I can keep my hands off the savings!
I’m dreading my next paycheck coming up. It’s the lowest I’ve ever received! Someones not been feeling well….
Well… I’m glad to be back and I can’t wait to start posting again. Don’t forget to share this blog with others!
*As always please leave your comments and suggestions of anything you’d like to see or know in the section below*
I’m now at the end of my last week of training in Atlanta. I can’t wait to be home again! The only thing is I’ve been having some girlfriend problems financially. For my girlfriends graduation from High School her father got her a truck from her grandparents as a gift. The only problem is she’s having to make the payments, so he basically only got her debt as a gift, and the payment is $400 a month.
Please keep in mind this is a used truck with high miles. Supposedly the total amount due is $11,000 (which she’s being ripped off by her own family). She does have a full time job, but only makes $8 an hour. The payment is almost 50% of her monthly take home pay. I’ve been trying to tell her to get rid of the truck, but she’s not having it. We’re not on the same financial page!!
My girlfriend even said it was “normal debt”, and I was completely in shock. Before this truck was given to her she was on the same page as me with money. She agreed that debt free was best. Her defense now is that it’s only going to take a little over 2 years to pay it off. Two years is WAY to long.
“She’s on a totally different chapter right now titled “the truck” and I’m not turning my page over!”
This is turning into a real bad situation for me, because she wants to get married in the near future. I’ve told her if she can’t be on the same financial plan as me I won’t even propose. I guess I’ll see what happens next….
